Linear Notes

This is an album that represents the sadness, beauty and promise of rainy days. Lost loves, lingering questions and nostalgia of happy times. The group sound is unique in that two acoustic pianos are used. That with the drum sound, and a feeling of rain pouring down is achieved.

The first track Recherche is french for "search". This tune is a quick latin piece that is meant to evoke the feel of that search for answers.

Vanilla and Cream is a waltz to represents both the flavors as well as the color.

Glass Slipper is an up tempo jazz piece that brings to mind the Cinderella story. The feeling is of a man who is looking for the love of his life, yet he can't find her. All he has is her shoe and the sweet memory of her.

Peridot is a precious gem that has a unique light green color. The piece is a 5/4 blues that evokes the majesty of that gems color.

The title piece, The Last Rain, is a ballad that brings to mind the days when you would look out the window during a rain storm. There is a certain beauty and melancholy to the feeling of not being able to enjoy yourself until the rain ends,

If I Asked You is a Jobim-esque bossa that is supposed to represent the complexity of asking a women's hand in marriage. As much as you persist, she seems to come up with an excuse to not say yes.
